Le due parole che ci saltano alla mente pensando alla nostra partecipazione al progetto Weaving Together sono felicità ed entusiasmo. È con queste parole nella testa e nel cuore che ci avviciniamo a Weaving Together per dare il nostro contributo, il quale, come da calendario, sarà realizzato alla fine del percorso del progetto. La Solot lavora molto nell’ambito della formazione teatrale, amiamo lavorare con ragazzi e ragazze, sia adolescenti sia più grandi, realizziamo laboratori teatrali aperti a tutti e inclusivi, entrando in contatto con il tessuto del nostro territorio e, pensando allo studio e allo sviluppo di un lavoro attorno alla figura di Orfeo, ci piace immaginare l’ipotesi di lavorare sul concetto di foresta messo in evidenza da Antonis Diamantis di Omma Studio Theatre di Creta, che nel suo intervento relativo ai miti percepiti come singoli alberi inseriti in un ecosistema complesso come può essere una foresta, ha disegnato l’immagine di una complessità affascinante e nello stesso raggiungibile, accessibile, tangibile.
The two words that come to mind when thinking about our participation in the project Weaving Together is happiness and enthusiasm. It is with these words in mind and heart that we approach Weaving Together when we think about our participation, which, as scheduled, will be implemented at the end of the project process. Solot theatre work has a great focus on theater training, we love working with teenagers and young people, we realize theater workshops that are open and inclusive, we are constantly in touch with the different communities of our town. Thinking about the study and development of a theatre work based on Orpheus, we would like to assimilate the idea of forest highlighted by Antonis Diamantis (Omma Studio Theater,Crete), who figured out the myths as single trees of a unique forest in which everything is connected. He has drawn the image of a fascinating and at the same time reachable, accessible, tangible complexity.
Sempre per collegarci a questo asse storico-culturale vorremo sottolineare che la nostra sede di lavoro è il teatro del Mulino Pacifico di Benevento, ovvero una sala teatrale che noi stessi abbiamo ricavato dai resti di un antico mulino che nel XVIII sec forniva il grano alla nostra città, circondati da luoghi di grandissima importanza storica come resti di un anfiteatro Romano del I sec. a. C. in grado di ospitare 25.000 spettatori, che ospitava i giochi dei gladiatori e presso il quale Nerone in persona si esibì suonando la Lira, oggi parzialmente visitabile e un secondo Teatro Romano del I sec. d. C. in grado di ospitare 3000 persone e che, perfettamente funzionante, ha ospitato in tempi più recenti artisti di fama internazionale e molte edizione del Benevento Città Spettacolo. Ultimo ma non meno importante, il nostro Teatro si trova nei pressi della confluenza tra due fiumi, il Calore e il Sabato, leggendario scenario dei Sabba, i convegni di streghe e diavoli, per cui Benevento è conosciuta nel mondo e descritta da letterati ed artisti come Dante Alighieri, Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli, Pietro l’Aretino , Niccolò Paganini ed altri come la città delle streghe.
In this flow of ideas, we would like to underline that our place is the Mulino Pacifico theater in Benevento, a theater hall that we obtained from the ruins of an ancient mill which in the 18th century supplied wheat to our area.
Our place is surrounded by sites of great historical importance such as the ruins of a Roman amphitheater of the 1st century B.C. which was able to welcome 25.000 spectators for the gladiatorial games and where Nero himself performed playing the Lyre. A second Roman theater from the 1st century. A.D., with a capacity of 3000 seats, is still open and active and, in time, has hosted artists and opera singers of international renown as well as many editions of Benevento Città Spettacolo.
Last but not least, our Theater is nearby of the confluence of two rivers, the Calore and the Sabato, the legendary scenario of the Sabbaths, the conventions of witches and devils, for which Benevento is known throughout the world and described by writers and artists such as Dante Alighieri, Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli, Pietro l’Aretino, Niccolò Paganini and others like the city of witches.
Queste alcune suggestioni che vogliamo portare all’interno del progetto, offrendo la possibilità di visitare questi antichi siti ricchi di storia ed organizzare incontri con allievi attori, spettatori, intellettuali per intrecciare insieme i fili di un unico discorso.
These are some suggestions that we want to bring into the project, offering the possibility of visit these ancient sites and organize meetings with student actors, spectators, intellectuals to weave together the threads of a single discourse.
